Food Rescuer
Do you have a passion for feeding our community while also saving the environment? If this sounds like you then then sign-up to be a Food Rescuer at the Young Women’s Resource Center. Volunteers will transport rescued food from sites near the YWRC to our offices for use by clients, weigh rescued food and log weights. Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age, with a reliable vehicle and an ability to lift up to 25 pounds. Ideal volunteers are friendly, responsible, self-starters that are willing to venture out on the roads. Food Rescuers are needed for pickups on Monday mornings between 8:30 to 9:30 am, Wednesday mornings (timing is flexible) and Friday mornings (timing is flexible). You pick the shift that works for you. This volunteer opportunity is available for short term volunteers (less than 3 month commitment) or large groups. To learn more or request an application please contact the YWRC at ywrc@ywrc.org or 515-244-4901.

Description
The Young Women's Resource Center serves more than 1,600 young women each year through our 13 programs, including: support groups, individual counseling, and in-school and after-school programs.
Founded in 1978, this non-profit agency provides gender specific services to all young women ages 10-21 in central Iowa.
