Brookdale Hospice Columbus is looking for volunteers who have loving animals who would like to make visits to patients and brighten their lives. Touch is an incredible sense that is still around when our sight and hearing may fail. Petting an animal can reduce stress and anxiety as well as lower blood pressure and promote healing. It can also ease depression and promote feelings of joy and love.
If you have an animal who is medically up to date and is gentle/ friendly, we'd love to have you make visits to our patients. We have 11 communities to choose from, in the Columbus area.
If you are interested please note that you'll be required to take our volunteer training as well as submit to back ground checks, drug screening and 2-step TB testing.
Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age with a parents signed consent.
