Nonprofit 97.9 WHAV FM-the only Haverhill-based news source-seeks a volunteer receptionist/office assistant. The successful candidate will be responsible for giving guests a great first impression of WHAV-whether in person, by telephone, through social media or written correspondence.

Tailored as much as possible to your interests, abilities and availability, tasks may include front desk greetings, answering telephones, responding to emails and social media requests, mailing membership packages or contest winnings, keeping the general’s manager’s calendar, tracking and ordering supplies and possibly other responsibilities depending on the talents you bring to WHAV.

If you’ve always wondered about the inside of a fast-paced news or broadcasting operation, you owe it to yourself to take advantage of this unique opportunity. Excellent for active retirees or those looking for rewarding use of school hours. Volunteers become full WHAV members and receive priority ranking when suitable paid positions become available. Previous volunteers have gone on to become employees.

Attention to detail; excellent organizational, written and verbal skills; self-starting personality; experience with Microsoft Office; and reliable transportation required.
