SHAG, a non-profit senior housing organization, will be upgrading the gardens of their Tri-Court community in Kent. Perfect for those who don't mind the dirt, the project will involve repurposing 12 trough garden beds with high-quality soil & nutrients.
We need extra hands to help us mix in the new soil in all troughs. This will involve transporting soil from one location to 3 courtyards on the campus. We will be removing the top layer of soil (6" - 8") and replacing it with high-quality soil and fertilizer. No gardening skills necessary! Shovels, wheelbarrows, and gloves will be provided. We will feed you for your time!
What to bring: Yourself! *We will provide some gloves, but if you have your own, please bring them.
What to wear: Comfortable clothes and shoes that you don't mind getting dirty!
Photos may be taken at this event. When you arrive, we will have photo release forms for you to sign. This is optional.
Please note: This is a physical project. Please be mindful of any medical conditions that may impact your ability to lift items over 25lbs.
Interested in being involved? Please contact Star Moss at starm@shag.org with the subject "TRI-COURT GARDEN VOLUNTEER".
