ORGANIZATION: KYRS Thin Air Community Radio

Your Role is to help bring funding to the station through different local, regional, and national grants from foundations, government agencies, etc.
You will work with KYRS staff to organize, research, and write grant proposals that KYRS is eligible for, as well as create a system/templates that will make the process easier.

Specific Duties:

* Keep updated on all grants and other funding opportunities that KYRS can apply for. Create a spreadsheet with all opportunities and deadlines. Keep this updated and current, and add and delete foundations as needed.

* Research other community radio stations as well as different non-profits relatable to KYRS to see what kind of funding they receive.

* Write and edit query letters and grant proposals as needed. Help create baseline templates that will speed up the process. Help create final reports to foundations which have funded KYRS.

KYRS Thin Air Community Radio is a nonprofit community radio station and has been serving Eastern Washington since 2003, providing a platform for diverse voices and fostering community engagement through innovative programming. Grant Researcher/Writer

KYRS Thin Air Community Radio fills needs that other media do not, providing programming to diverse communities and unserved or underserved groups. Thin Air Radio provides a forum for neglected perspectives and discussions on important local, national and global issues, reflecting values of peace, social, economic and environmental justice, human rights, democracy, multiculturalism, freedom of expression and social change. Thin Air's arts, cultural, and music programming covers a wide spectrum of expression from traditional to experimental and reflects the diverse cultures Thin Air serves. Thin Air Radio strives for spontaneity and program excellence, both in content and technique.

Description

Thin Air Community Radio is run almost entirely by volunteers from the community, people like you who have a passion for independent music and ideas. All locally produced programs are hosted by volunteers.
