Do you envision your community as a place where every girl knows her limitless potential? We have a volunteer opportunity for you! Girls on the Run of NOVA (GOTR NOVA) is looking for devoted individuals throughout the Northern Virginia region to represent GOTR NOVA at a variety of community events and outreach opportunities. These individuals will seek to connect and empower individuals in their community to start a GOTR program, volunteer to coach, or just help support a girl in their community! Additionally, CommunityAmbassadorsmay provide support at events throughout the year including coach training, registration events, and informational sessions. CommunityAmbassadors will also have the chance to celebrate our girls each season at the end-of-season 5k in November and May. This is a 10-month volunteer position that will start in August 2019 and conclude in June 2020. Applications will be accepted for the 2019-2020 CommunityAmbassador positions through June 14, 2019. Description
Girls on the Run of NOVA advocates and delivers physical activity-based, positive youth development programs (PA-PYD) for pre-adolescent and adolescent girls in Alexandria, Arlington, Fairfax, Falls Church, Loudoun, Manassas, Manassas Park, and Prince William.
As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization serving more than 60,000 girls since 2000, GOTR NOVA works to engage the entire community to positively impact the health and well being of the girls of Northern Virginia, their families and communities, and the volunteer coaches who serve them.
