Join the Disaster Cycle Services Preparedness Team as they help to make our communities more resilient!!

The American Red Cross, Be Red Cross Ready Presenter provides emergency preparedness information and guidance so that individuals within a community can be better prepared for, respond to and recover from disasters and other emergencies. Having community members that are better prepared for disasters can lead to a more resilient community, potentially help save lives and reduce the negative impact of a disaster on a community.

Responsibilities:

• Provide standardized, high-quality training to groups and individuals on how to prepare for and respond to disasters and other emergencies
• Complete required training
• Help implement and grow the program
• Coordinate with staff and leads to ensure you have the necessary information, equipment and supplies to effectively conduct presentations
• May assist with community outreach to schedule presentations at sites
• May assist in reaching key groups within the region, such as support to military family and at-risk communities
• May mentor new presenter to help the region build the team
• Preform other duties as agreed to between the presenter and the Be Red Cross Ready Program Leader
• Record required data

Qualifications:

• Enthusiastic about the American Red Cross mission and programs
• Comfortable presenting, explaining and demonstrating an interactive, skill-based technique to a wide range of ages
• Ability to successfully work in a broad cross section of stakeholders and partners
• Ability to problem solve and be flexible with program changes
• Ability to work independently
• Strong organizational skills and ability to follow through with minimum supervision
• Reliable, punctual and good time management skills
• Excellent training skills and oral communication skills, including public speaking
• Reliable transportation

Training is provided at no cost. This position asks that you give 4 hours per month.
