Are you enthusiastic about connecting people to nature? Do you enjoy engaging the community, interpreting out natural settings, and supporting our parks? Consider becoming a Visitor Center Host at Columbia Springs!
The Visitor Center is a remodeled 1930's building with a small gift shop, welcome space, and lending library/activity room. As A Visitor Center Host, volunteers are responsible for engaging visitors in activities, providing recommendations for their visit, managing the gift shop, and developing new ideas for how we can engage the public.
Our newly remodeled Visitor Center officially opened on April 13th and we are looking for passionate volunteers to help us staff it Friday-Sunday, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Visitor Center Hosts are asked to commit to staffing the Visitor Center at least once every other week for a 3-hour shift. We are happy to work with your schedule but ask that all volunteers communicate their participation in a timely manner.

Columbia Springs offers our community a unique setting where educational experiences foster greater awareness of the natural world and inspire stewardship. Columbia Springs is located on a 100-acre urban natural area that includes the historic Vancouver trout hatchery. Programming at Columbia Springs includes K-12 field trips and in-class teaching, adult sustainable living classes, volunteer and service learning opportunities, environmental restoration, fish rearing, and special community events.
