The Central PA Womyn's Chorus brings together a diverse group of women, in a safe and welcoming space, to celebrate and empower all women through the joy of singing. CPWC is a choral group, opened to any woman; composed of approximately 20-25 women of diverse backgrounds, who come together because they love to sing. We strive for musical excellence in a wide range of styles including clasical, folk, jazz, acappella, chants, and rounds; show tunes and popular songs of most decades of the twentieth century, and music recently composed. Our concerts offer a safe and enjoyable environment for lovers of choral music, our families, friends, and neighbors to come together and celebrate our diversity as well as our common goals. Participation is voluntary and open auditions are held to place new singers in the appropriate section. The Chours performs 2 full-length concerts each year plus several smaller performances. Rehearsals are held every Monday night from 7pm-9pm. Board meetings are held once a month. All singers are volunteers and the Board is a working Board. We are self-sustaining and support ourselves with a variety of fund-raisers, as well as membership dues of $60 per season for each singer and Board member. Need based scholarships are available for those who wish to become involved but are not able to afford the membership dues. We have a fabulously accomplished artistic direrctor, and equally talented accompanist.
