We are looking for a male volunteer to mentor a 17-year-old male youth from Guatemala who is part of our refugee foster care program. He arrived in the United States in August of 2018 and entered into our refugee foster care program in January of 2019. A staff member at the home shared, "During his time in the program the youth has been respectful, well behaved, and very engaged on the program's activities such as individual, group and recreational therapy. He has said he does not like cooking but would be willing to learn. He likes playing soccer, going out to explore the community and learning English. When asked about future career goals he says he would like to be a teacher."

A bit about his background: The youth shared that his father left the household at an early age, so he was forced to stop going to school and start working in the fields to provide for his family. The youth would take care of animals and cut crops.
