Mission Statement
Summit Home Health & Hospice is committed to providing high quality, comprehensive care to meet the physical, emotional, spiritual, and practical needs of people in the last phase of life, those dying from a terminal illness. Summit Hospice reflects a spirit and philosophy of caring that emphasizes comfort and dignity for the dying. Hospice makes it possible for the dying to remain independent for as long as possible.
Description
Summit Hospice care is a patient and family-centered approach that includes an interdisciplinary team of professionals focusing on the dying person’s needs whether physical, emotional, or spiritual.
Hospice care usually takes place at home, retirement center, nursing facility or assisted living. It allows the patient to live with a terminal illness yet control their life with meaning. Hospice concentrates on keeping patients free of pain so they can enjoy the time that remains with them.
Our Hospice team includes volunteers. Volunteers are the heart of Hospice, and each volunteer makes an enormous difference in the lives of our patients and their families. Whether it’s providing companionship to a person in the final months and weeks of life, offering support to family members and caregivers or helping with office administration work, the contributions of volunteers are indispensable to Summit Hospice.
