ICfL building

Can you come in for 1 to 2 or more hours a week and enter survey data? Our Talking Book patrons will mail back paper surveys, and these need to be entered online.

The Idaho Commission for Libraries (ICfL) Talking Book program needs your help to ensure we provide the best service possible to Idahoans who rely on our audiobook service due to low vision, blindness, or a physical, perceptual, or reading disability.

Our office is compliant with all state and local requirements for COVID-19 protection. We require masks to be worn in shared spaces, areas are disinfected in between use, and building has limited occupancy.

About Idaho Commission for Libraries

Location:

325 West State Street, Boise, ID 83702, US

Mission Statement

The Idaho Commission assists libraries to build the capacity to better serve their communities.

Description

A few examples of how The Idaho Commission for Libraries helps build the capacity of Idaho Libraries are the following services:

Talking Book Service provides free audio and Braille books and magazines and the necessary playback equipment, for Idahoans of all ages who are unable to read standard print materials.

The Read to Me program supports early childhood literacy with a variety of projects such as "First Book", "Jumpstart Kindergarten", "Summer Reading", "Family Reading Week" and so much more.

Teen programs help inspire teens to go on to be life long readers and learners.

Lili (Libraries Linking Idaho) is a group of projects and services that bring networked library service to the residents of Idaho. Idahoans will be familiar with the LiLI Portal where users can search the statewide library catalog, read magazine and newspaper articles, and even find auto-repair help. In addition to those statewide services, LiLI fosters collaboration among libraries for interlibrary sharing, keeping up with technology trends, and developing cooperative services among libraries.
