The Girls on the Run 5K is a unique, end-of-season event that brings together thousands of NOVA girls, their families, and community members for a celebratory 5K run.
To be a success each 5K event needs over 100 total volunteers in a variety of roles! Our 5K volunteers serve as greeters, buddy runners, course marshals, start and finish line managers, water stops managers, and much more. We have a job for everyone who wants to help!
Course Marshals direct runners as they make their way along the course and make sure that runners follow the course correctly and safely. Course marshals are also useful cheerleaders for runners -- keeping their spirits high and providing them with encouragement! We would love to have your help as a Course Mashal!
