Make your Mark on History
Be a docent for a once in a lifetime exhibit in a beautiful environment and building. The Department of Heritage and Arts and Spike 150 have brought together precious artifacts to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Transcontinental Railroad (TCRR) . The 1862 Railway Act signed by Abraham Lincoln and TCRR golden spikes along with other treasures will be on display in the Gold Room of the Utah State Capitol, May 3rd through June 25th. We need volunteer docents 7 days a week: 8:30 am until 8:30 pm Monday through Thursday and 8:30 am until 6:30 pm Friday, Saturday and Sunday for 3 and 4 hour shifts. Talk to people about railroad history, Utah’s history and the history of the West (we will provide information). Basic duties include crowd management, customer service,and enforcement of exhibit rules. Sign up using the links below and be an ambassador for the State of Utah!
