New this year, and in partnership with Johnson County Public Library, our Parks and Recreation Department will co-host a Walk and Read event! This event will be held on Saturday October 5th from 10a to noon at West Flanders Park in Shawnee. Kids of all ages will be encouraged to walk the park while reading a storybook. Not reading a book in their hands, but along the path, in segments displayed for this purpose. This is where you (possibly) come in! To make these beloved tales come to life we're asking for volunteers to dress in character and join us! Which character...up to you!
Please note this role is for those in 8th grade or older. We wish to not have duplicate characters so we will ask what costume you are planning. For specific questions, please contact Carrie Worth, Lead Librarian, Monticello Branch at worthc@jocolibrary.org
