Here at Kindred Hospice, our patients and their care comes first. We believe in people being involved with their community and making a difference. It may seem like such a simple task to take a minute and stop by to say hello to someone and spend some time with them, but to some people it means a lot.
We are looking for volunteers to stop by and see our patients in the Weymouth and/or surrounding areas to provide a compassionate presence and to visit with them to bring them an additional level of quality of life at the end of life.
Patient visit volunteers could include;
- Playing cards
- Watching a favorite TV show
- Taking a patient to activities
- Stepping outside in the courtyard (weather permitting)
- having a nice conversation
- providing one way conversation and companionship to a patient who may not be able to communicate.
