Quality of Life Inc. works to inspire, promote, and enhance the "Quality of Life" of youth and their families in our community through personal, educational, and social development and growth. QLI understands the importance of one’s well-being and provides various programs, events, and resources to ensure each individual in our community truly understands "Your Well-being Matters."

Below are a few of our programs here at Quality of Life Inc. that you can volunteer and make a difference in the life of our youth.

Higher Grounds Mentoring (HGM)
program empowers boys and young men to develop the necessary skills and abilities required to maximize their opportunities for personal growth and productive citizenship through academic, therapeutic, and group mentoring. HGM utilizes an evidenced-based curriculum designed in the evidence-based principles of motivational interviewing and strengths-based approaches that target resiliency and protective factors to promote boys' and young men's safe and healthy passage through pre-teen and adolescent years.

Higher Ground - Leading Youth of Tomorrow (HG-LYoT)
is an evidence-based cognitive skills training program for preventing recidivism among juveniles focused on reducing risk factors and skill building. In a psychoeducational group model, the program provides a dual approach to targeting criminogenic needs such as controlling impulsive behaviors and improving anti-social behaviors and attitudes.

Higher Grounds Life-Skills Coaching (HGLC)
program supports all ages with a focus on the following areas: Financial Management (opening bank accounts, saving money, buying groceries, etc.), Self Confidence (strength finding/ inner strength, motivation, assertiveness), Job Preparation (resume writing, interview coaching, dressing appropriately, etc.), School support (study skills, organization, time management, etc.), Social Skills, Communication, positive conflict resolution with peers and adults, Daily living (hygiene, meal planning and preparation, nutrition, grocery shopping), Community resource linkage (identifying and accessing government agencies, voter registration, obtaining and organizing vital records).

Youth At Work (YAW) program supports youth ages 16-24 with workforce development and employment skills through soft skill development, hard skill development, job coaching, and job placement. The YAW components are designed to meet the unique needs of the youth being served with the necessary skills and employment opportunities to successfully increase workforce knowledge and to increase community linkage and productive citizenship. YAW serves as a vital component in helping to prepare youth for the successful transition into the world of work whether now or later in their academic careers.
