Be empowered at this month’s BostonTalks. Speakers includeSara Minkara, a blind woman who founded Empowerment Through Integration in an effort to make society more inclusive for people with disabilities and Andrea Isabelle Lucas, a domestic violence survivor who took charge of her life, started a successful Barre business and became an advocate for self-empowered change. BostonTalks is WGBH’s smarter happy hour. It’s smarter because we feature three short talks, and it’s happy hour because the entire event takes place in a bar-like setting with lots of casual conversation.

Position/Shift: Drink Sales (6:30-9:30pm), Food Host (6-9:30pm), Greeter (6:45-8:30pm), Volunteer Photographer (7-9pm), Registration using an iPad (6:30-8:30pm)

* Volunteers must be 21+ to help during this event.

Mission Statement

GBH informs, inspires and entertains millions through GBH 2, GBH 44 and GBH 89.7 in Boston; WCAI 90.1 and WNAN 91.1, serving Cape Cod and the Islands; WGBY 57 in Springfield; and wgbh.org. Description

GBH productions are seen and heard across the United States and Canada. In fact, we produce more of the PBS prime-time and Web lineup than any other station. Home video and podcasts, teaching tools for schools and home-schooling, services for people with hearing or vision impairments...we're always looking for new ways to serve the community!
