Leukemia & Lymphoma Society - Utah

Our Students of the Year Grand Finale Celebration is coming up on Saturday, April 27 th at the Little America Hotel in downtown Salt Lake City and we need some volunteer support!

Volunteer Needs:

  • 5 Friday set up volunteers- (2pm -5pm Friday April 26 th) *If you have a truck- we would love your help with set up as we will have silent auction items that we will need to transport from our LLS office (in Murray) to the Grand Finale (in Salt Lake)
  • 5-8 set up volunteers - (12pm - 5pm Saturday, April 27th) - we need help setting the silent auction items, and putting together the ballroom to look as beautiful as possible. If you have an eye for display and design- you would be perfect to help out at this time!
  • 10-13 During-Event volunteers - (4:30pm - 9pm Saturday, April 27 th) Jobs from selling beads, registration, and being protector of our ballot boxes, there are many options to help make the Finale run smoothly.
  • 8-10 clean up volunteers- (8pm-10:30pm) to help with take down and clean up

Volunteers will be helping us with set up and take down of the Grand Finale space. Some physical activity (carrying items, bending, lifting, stretching) will be involved. The Grand Finale will be taking place in the ballroom of the Little America Hotel and will require quite a bit of walking. The dress code for before and after event volunteers is business casual (nice jeans, button up shirt).

Our during-event volunteers will need to be able to stand for long period of time as guest enter and mingle. These volunteers will need to wear business/cocktail attire for this portion of the evening.

Mission Statement

The mission of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.

We work tirelessly to find cures and ensure patients can access the lifesaving treatments they need. When someone experiences the fear and uncertainty of a blood cancer diagnosis, we provide hope, compassion, education and support. Our impact is felt beyond blood cancer. The breakthrough treatments we helped advance for blood cancers are now improving the lives of people affected by many types of cancer.

Description

Volunteers are our partners in the crusade to end cancer.

In 2017, LLS volunteers made a significant impact while selflessly dedicating their time and talent to achieve our mission. With countless ways to engage, from fundraising to providing patient support, our volunteers are changing the landscape of cancer.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Utah Chapter serves residents who have been touched by one of the blood cancers: leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma.
