Habitat for Humanity South Hampton Roads

HabitatSHR is looking for volunteers to help us as Habitat Ambassadors. Ambassadors help represent HabitatSHR at community functions, fairs, business meetings and various other opportunities around the area. Ambassadors help spread our mission to build affordable homes that strengthen families and communities in South Hampton Roads .

Ambassadors

  • Raise awareness of Habitat SHR throughout Hampton Roads community
    Share the message that we are a Hand Up not a Hand-out Organization
  • Fund raise for organization
  • Seek new community outreach opportunities (lunch and learns at businesses, church presentations, school group presentations, host tables at events and fairs, etc.)
  • Minimum of 1 year commitment and commit to (during COVID) scheduling 1 event/presentation (can be virtual) and attend 1 event/presentation outside of the one you schedule. This requirement will change once COVID guidelines are eased and more community fairs and events become more available.

We provide resources and training. We'd love to have you come on board and join our volunteer team!

Description

Habitat for Humanity South Hampton Roads utilizes the power of volunteers to build affordable homes in our community and provide support in our ReStores. We serve all seven geographical entities that comprise South Hampton Roads: Chesapeake, Isle of Wight, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Smithfield, Suffolk, and Virginia Beach. Together with the help of volunteers, we have built over 200 homes throughout the area.
