Mission Statement

Serving disabled veterans and the canine community

Description

RRUFF was originally formed to establish the first off-leash dog park in Rocklin, Ca. The dog park opened December 23, 2011. In 2014 our mission expanded and Healing Heroes became a program of RRUFF. This program is dedicated to providing funding for service dog training expeses to veterans with post traumatic stress disorder and other invisible disabilities. In 2020 the service dog training class funding will be merged into Allegiant Giving, a larger local nonprofit. This training is delivered by 4Paws2Freedom. Classes are held throughout the greater Sacramento, Placer, Yuba, and El Dorado counties. We will continue to manage the RRUFF Dog Park inside Johnson-Springview park. And we will continue to fund veterinary care for service dogs in-training as well as assist in finding and adopting, rescuing or purchasing dogs to match with veterans in the program. We have grown substantially over the past four years and look forward to continued expansion and collaboration within the nonprofit community beginning with our relationship at Allegiant Giving. Our focus will be on raising money for the needs of the dogs in the service dog training classes. Allegiant Giving will fund the classes.
