It's festival time! Join us at the 9th Cherry Blossom Festival, a family-friendly event featuring multiple Japanese drumming (taiko) groups, dance, plus delicious food from our beloved vendors and games and activities for everyone to soak in Japanese culture. We look forward to having you. (Come join us even if you can't volunteer!)
We especially need help managing registration or the game tables, surveying the audience etc during the event. No special skills are necessary and an outgoing disposition most appreciated! The Genki Spark is a multi-generational, pan-Asian women's arts and advocacy organization that uses Japanese taiko drumming, personal stories, and creativity to build community, develop leadership, and advocate respect for all.
Description
The Genki Spark aims to promote and support the voice and visibility of Asian women while advocating respect for all. Working with families, schools, activist organizations, and social and nonprofit groups, The Genki Spark appeals to a broad audience. Through taiko demonstrations; recreational workshops; and presentations on Asian American culture, leadership, and team building, The Genki Spark strives to build community, foster self-confidence, and promote a world where every culture is respected.
