Jewish Community Against Sex Trafficking (JCAST) Chicago is a grassroots advocacy project working to combat sex trafficking in the Chicagoland area. A Sex trafficking ring was broken up in the Optima building in Skokie in 2017, at the Final Four game in Minneapolis last month, and many other places. Sex Trafficking, a part of human trafficking, is the second largest criminal enterprise and the fastest growing.
Start a dialogue, Build friendships, strengthen the #MeToo movement. Volunteers build awareness in their community whether that is in their synagogue, library, or neighborhood. Events are planned in the Western suburbs, Northshore, Lake County, and in the City.
We partner with diverse organizations including direct service nonprofits leading to more services for survivors; houses of worships creating interfaith connections; and professional associations including bar and medical to build awareness. We also reach out to legislators educating and advocating for innovative legislation to combat this form of modern-day slavery.
Diverse opportunities are available for you to get involved and be part of social change.

Mission Statement
The National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW) is a grassroots organization of volunteers and advocates who turn progressive ideals into action. Inspired by Jewish values, NCJW strives for social justice by improving the quality of life for women, children, and families and by safeguarding individual rights and freedoms
Description
In 1891, Hannah G. Solomon was asked to organize the participation of Jewish women for the upcoming Chicago World’s Fair. When Hannah and her recruits discovered they were expected to perform hostess duties, they refused and planned a revolutionary women’s forum instead. Convening in 1893 at the World Parliament of Religions, these courageous Jewish women from throughout the country changed the role of women and the nature of volunteerism forever by founding the National Council of Jewish Women.
Since the 19th century, NCJW has realized its mission with pioneering programs and initiatives that honor and protect freedom, individual rights, and civil liberties, as well as through service projects that benefit local communities. Our proud history tells a wonderful story that is worth sharing.
