Our volunteers provide direct and indirect care for the patients and families of Asana Hospice.
A direct patient care volunteer needs to have the ability to to effectively communicate verbally and in writing. Must be able to drive or arrange transportation to patients home. Direct patient care services can be (but are not limited to)
Helping patients/families with household chores, Shopping, Companionship, Reading, Walking a patients dog, Watching TV together, Meal Prep, Food set up, Music, Conversation, )
Volunteers may assist in ancillary and office activities that support direct patient care activities. Examples of administrative activities could include(but are not restricted to)
Answering telephones, Filing and copying, Data Entry, Assisting with patient and family mailings, Shredding, Maintenance, Paint touch up, Gardening, Special projects)

Mission Statement
Asana Hospice and Palliative Care is dedicated to providing an individualized program of physical, emotional, spiritual, and practical care for people in the last phases of a life-limiting illness, with an emphasis on control of pain and other symptoms. The program emphasizes comfort and dignity for the dying, centering on both the patient and the family/caregiver. Hospice personnel respect and respond to the unique differences in lifestyle, values, and wishes.
Description
Our goals are to create a comfortable and safe environment for the dying, and effective grieving for the family and loved ones of the patient. In addition to keeping our patients pain managed and under control, the hospice team also addresses the emotional, social, and spiritual needs of the patient and their loved ones. Our team helps them find meaningful information, resources, and solutions to resolving end of life issues.
