Kentucky Lions Eye Foundation is in need of volunteers to help with Free Vision Screenings during the 2019 Kentucky State Fair - Thursday, August 15th through Sunday, August 25th in the South Wing Lobby B at the Kentucky Fair & Exposition Center. If you volunteer, you will receive a free admission/parking ticket into the fair.
The schedule is broken up into two shifts - 1st Shift - 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and 2nd Shift - 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. We will have 3 different types of screenings: check acuity, field vision, and pressure, everyone is trained onsite. We will also have the Spot camera that will take pictures of children's eyes under the age of 7.

Description
The Kentucky Lions Eye Foundation was founded in 1954 by the Louisville Downtown Lions Club and has been governed by the Lions of Kentucky since it's inception. With nearly 350,000 Kentuckians who are uninsured and many more who are under-insured when it comes to vision, the Kentucky Lions Eye Foundation's services are in need more than ever. We are committed to filling the gaps that exist for many Kentuckians by providing affordable access to vision services. Our reach extends across the Commonwealth.
Last year alone KLEF:
provided nearly 30,000 FREE vision screenings to Kentucky children
provided over 23,000 FREE vision screenings to Kentucky adults and
provided financial aid for 30 eye surgeries
provided referrals to local Lions Club eye glass programs to over 3,500 Kentuckians
volunteers provided over 1,000 volunteer hours to support our mission
