Mission Statement

The San Diego Cooperative Charter School supports a progressive, developmentally-based, child-centered community for active and collaborative student learning where shared values of family, diversity, creativity and academic excellence flourish.

Description

Free, public charter school that serves 300 students in Mountain View, San Diego CA. Our students represent many cultural backgrounds and socio-economic levels. We are located in one of the most underserved communities in the U.S. educating neighborhood students and many others that are driven from other parts of San Diego county; this confluence of student cultures is an asset we celebrate! We are a progressive and innovative charter school focused on cultivating academic greatness through immersive and inspiring curriculum. Students learn in multiage classrooms, which engage children in hands-on, individualized learning and allow them to grow as resilient leaders. We believe in deep and meaningful teacher student relationships that are built on empathy and trust. We facilitate social and emotional growth by engaging our students in their education, and teaching them compassion, curiosity and interdependence directly in an inclusive and family-like atmosphere.
