Students involved in the L.I.V.E (Leaders in Interpersonal Violence Education)program have an active leadership role, gain in-depth knowledge about interpersonal violence, develop public speaking, group facilitation, and communication skills and commit to advocating for this important social justice issue utilizing the latest developments in the anti-violence movement.
Being a L.I.V.E member is a valuable experience for all students. In 2019 L.I.V.E was a finalist for URI's Rainville Team Leadership Award, and we continue to make huge strides in making a positive impact in our community.
Members are required 4 hours a week of office hours in addition to online and group training for peer education, domestic violence awareness, mental health first aid, safe zone, and much more! In the fall we facilitate all presentation on interpersonal violence for URI 101 freshmen, along with organizing awareness events in the Spring, such as Take back the Week!
