Help adults learn to read by meeting twice a week for about 90 minutes in a public place. All curriculum is provided and training is given on how to use the curriculum. Helping someone learn to read can change their life forever! Be a life change and bring reading to lives.

Mission Statement
LearningQuest -- Stanislaus Literacy Centers is a volunteer non-profit organization that provides basic literacy skills and English as a Second Language opportunities for adults in the workforce and in our community.
Description
LearningQuest -- Stanislaus Literacy Centers helps adults who lack basic reading, writing and math skills. We do this through a reading and GED lab in a one-stop job training center, we do it through one-on-one and group tutoring and we do it through classes. We also have a program in the county jail system that provides GED tutoring and literacy tutoring for incarcerated adults. Our most recent addition is the family literacy program which operates out of two schools in our county -- Wakefield Elementary and Chrysler Elementary schools. We have a new program which is located at the Samaritan House Shelter for women and children. These family literacy programs provide the adults with tutoring plus family literacy activities and activities for the children while the parents are tutored. There are several books given to the family during the course of the program.
