Are You Ready to Act Now? - The journey to become a Hospice Volunteer starts May 2, when a 6-week training program begins. If you are interested in helping patients, and their family members, who are facing death & loss, now is the right time to start on this path.
Hospice Volunteers provide the extra support that can ease a difficult time. By offering caregivers respite, by extending companionship to whomever needs it, and by simply being quietly present, when most run away, are how Hospice Volunteers make a difference.
There are no special skills or background that you need to be a Hospice Volunteer, however, you do need to enjoy a wide spectrum of personalities, and be able to listen and elicit others to tell their story, instead of wanting to advise them what to do.
Holy Redeemer HomeCare and Hospice is a non-profit agency, which has many offices throughout the central and south New Jersey area, as well as, eastern Pennsylvania. This post is only for those in Ocean County. As a Hospice Volunteer, you will only travel to where you are comfortable traveling to, but all of our activity is in Ocean County.
To get more details, please respond to this posting, so we may send you our Introductory Packet, which has a full explanation of the on-boarding process.
Many of our volunteers say that they get more out from their volunteering than they give. I hope you will have the same experience, but if you don’t start by requesting an Introductory Packet, we’ll never know.
