The Special Needs Aquatic Program (SNAP) has started a Parent-Tot class for young children with special needs (disabilities). We are looking for volunteers to work with our children and parents. You'll work hands on with a family and help engage their child, learn new skills, play, and socialize with the other families. The class is structured so you'll have guidance during the class and we'll train you as we go.
SNAP is a positive, welcoming, inclusive environment and we honor the gifts and challenges in each child.
The class is held on Fridays, 6/21-7/26 from 6:00pm-6:45pm at the Palo Alto Family YMCA, 3412 Ross Road.
If you'd like to swim with school age children, we also hold classes from 4:15-6:00 so you can join us then too!
We will re-start up in the fall, following the Stanford calendar with fall, winter, and spring quarters. Please contact us about helping during the school year!
