Volunteer at a cool museum in Kitsap County, Washington, that draws visitors from all over the world! The U.S. Naval Undersea Museum offers visitors the opportunity to explore the history, operations, and technology of the U.S. Navy's undersea forces through engaging, thought-provoking, and interactive exhibits and programs.

As a Museum Attendant, you are the welcoming and knowledgeable person in the museum lobby who is greeting all the incoming visitors. Museum Attendants carry out museum policies and procedures to ensure people and artifacts are safe. One other Museum Attendants works with you, and other museum employees are also present in the museum.

Museum Attendants should display the following qualities:

  • outgoing and friendly nature
  • a helpful, courteous manner
  • good oral communication skills
  • motivation and drive
  • good problem-solving skills
  • ability to multi-task
  • interest in museums, history, or undersea technology
  • able to process/retain large amounts of information
  • neat personal appearance (we are representing the U.S. Navy!)
  • able to handle groups of people with ease.

Description

The U.S. Naval Undersea Museum offers visitors the opportunity to explore the history, operations, and technology of the U.S. Navy's undersea forces through engaging, thought-provoking, and interactive exhibits and programs. We hold the country’s most comprehensive collection of U.S. Navy artifacts, documents, and reference material related to undersea subjects, and are renowned for several of these specialty collections, especially those in torpedoes, mines, diving and salvage, submarine technology, and undersea vehicles.

The U.S. Naval Undersea Museum is one of ten museums operated by the U.S. Navy under the direction of the Naval History and Heritage Command.
