We are looking for people to join our Zero Waste Team to help at Huron River Day on Sun, May 19th (12-4pm). Shifts are 2hrs in length and will be 12:00 - 2:00 pm and 2:00 - 4:00 pm Please specify which shift you are interested in when you reply to the posting.
This event is at the beautiful Gallup Park - 3000 Fuller Rd., Ann Arbor.
As a volunteer on the Zero Waste Team you play a critical role in helping Huron River Day achieve its waste diversion rate goal of 90%! Volunteers on the Zero Waste Team oversee a three-bin Zero Waste Station (one large compost bin, one large recycle bin, one small trash bin) to guide event patrons on which bin to place their materials in. The work of volunteers helps us avoid contamination and reach more community members in demonstrating the vast amount of our "waste" that can really be diverted from the landfill through composting and recycling!
*Upon expressing your interest, we will send you back a confirmation email for the shift you specify. Closer to the event you will receive important volunteer information, logistics, and the meeting locations.
