About the program:
A Time for Us brings adults with Developmental Disabilities, ages 21 and over, to social and recreational opportunities in a safe and nurturing environment. Participants will have the opportunity to make lasting friendships while taking part in fun activities with peers, caring professional staff, and community members.
We need YOU, volunteers, to help socialize, create craft projects, and join in fun and sometimes even dancing!! with those in attendance. Going on occasional, local field trips are also part of this program. Some past examples are museums and farms. Volunteers are required to provide their own transportation if a trip is planned.

Commonpoint Queens is a non-profit, multi-service agency with flagship sites in Little Neck, Bayside, Forest Hills, and 33 additional sites throughout the community that provides a diverse array of programs and services to over 35,000 people. Since our inception, almost 60 years ago, the Samuel Field Y has been dedicated to the core element of our mission - enhancing the quality of individual, family and communal life through service to people of all ages, ability levels, stages of life and backgrounds.
Description
For almost 60 years, Commonpoint Queens (formerly The Samuel Field and Central Queens YMWHA) has remained strong and vital and has continued to provide new and innovative programs to the greater Northeast Queens and Western Nassau communities.
As we embark on our sixth decade of providing high quality programs and services to our community, individuals of all ages learn and flourish within a caring and supportive environment at one of our 36 different sites throughout our neighborhoods.
We continue to provide life enhancing and life sustaining services to the over 35,000 people who depend on us to be their community center at each stage of their lives.
