Ballet Arizona is in need of volunteers for our upcoming performances of The Four Seasons at Desert Botanical Garden, which runs Tuesday through Saturday for three weeks, starting May 18, 2021.

Volunteers are required to properly wear a mask, NOT a face shield, the entire shift. If you are not able to wear a mask for any reason, please refrain from signing up for this opportunity. The entire event is outside and you will be active for the majority of your shift. It can get warm until the sun goes down, so water will be provided and we encourage volunteers to bring snacks to be eaten at a distance from other people.

Volunteer Duties:

  • Ticket Takers:
    • Help prepare site for guests by putting linens and table numbers on each table
    • Greet all patrons as they enter
    • Read & check ticket/rip stubs
    • Hand out program book to all patrons as they enter
    • Answer patron questions and direct them to staff when appropriate
    • After performance ends, assist in pick-up of site
  • Ushers:
    • Help prepare site for guests by putting linens and table numbers on each table
    • Help direct patrons to their designated seating or table
    • Answer patron questions and direct them to staff when appropriate
    • After performance ends, assist in pick-up of site
  • Social Media Frame:
    • Help prepare site for guests by putting linens and table numbers on each table
    • Walk around the performance site with a picture frame before and after the performance and ask patron's if they would like their picture taken with the frame.
    • Answer patron questions and direct them to staff when appropriate
    • After performance ends, assist in pick-up of site

Attire:

  • Women - suggestion: Shorts, sun dresses or skirts, blouses, or collared shirt. Please wear comfortable shoes as you will be standing for the majority of your shift.
  • Men - suggestion: Shorts, polo or collared shirt. Please wear comfortable shoes as you will be standing for the majority of your shift.
  • All:Masks required. Strongly consider wearing sunscreen, a hat and bringing sunglasses. It also gets a bit windy, so keep that in mind. Please do not wear athletic wear, sleep wear, or ripped jeans.

Vouchers:

As a thank you, volunteers will receive a voucher redeemable for one ticket to a 2021-2022 season main-stage performance OR one adult class at The School of Ballet Arizona. Volunteers may earn up to two vouchers maximum for this production, if they volunteer more than once. Instructions for redeeming these vouchers are printed on the back of the actual vouchers.

Parking & Travel:

Parking is free and there is a designated parking area, there will be signage, for Ballet Arizona employees and volunteers on location. The 56 bus also stops right at the DBG entrance. More detailed information about parking will be sent out as shifts approach.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be at least 16
  • We need 15 volunteers per performance (5/18-5/22, 5/25-5/29, 6/1-6/5) all performances begin at 8 pm and all volunteer shifts are from 5:00 pm – 10:00 pm.
  • Masks are required. We ask that all volunteers be mindful and prepared for hot May/June weather. Volunteers will be active for the majority of their shift. This opportunity is ADA accessible.
