During these uncertain times, how can we help?
See below to access our COVID-19 Resource Hub, and to explore our growing directory of both COVID-19-specific and virtual volunteering opportunities.
The East Bay SPCA needs volunteers to assist with community outreach and awareness events, such as farmer’s markets, street fairs, seasonal events and corporate events for employee giving. Having a presence at these events is key to raising awareness throughout the East Bay about who we are and the many programs and services we provide to help animals and people in our community.
Role: Volunteer Ambassadors are East Bay SPCA volunteers who are willing and available to positively represent the organization at community and other outreach events to increase public awareness of the East Bay SPCA’s mission, programs and value to the local community.
Training: Attend the East Bay SPCA’s Volunteer Ambassador Orientation with Volunteer Services.
Shifts: Shift length varies from 2-4 hours with many shifts on weekends, holidays and possibly evenings (after 5:00 p.m.). Flexible scheduling and no minimum volunteer commitment per month!Requirements:

The East Bay SPCA is committed to the welfare of cats and dogs in the communities we serve. We strive to eliminate animal cruelty, neglect and overpopulation by providing programs and education that support people and companion animals.
The East Bay SPCA has been an innovator in animal welfare for over 125 years providing shelter, health care, and adoption services for unwanted animals since 1874. We are committed to finding homes for adoptable cats and dogs, providing affordable veterinary and spay/neuter services, and educating the public on responsible pet ownership. We are the oldest animal welfare organization in the East Bay and operate two animal shelters and three clinics, serving Alameda and Contra Costa counties.
We'll work with your schedule.
