ORGANIZATION: WestSide Baby

WSB logo-new

At WestSide Baby we distribute diapers and gently used children’s items, including clothes, toys, books and safety equipment, free of charge to families in need by partnering with social service agencies. Last year we served about 35,000 children in western King County by working with over 150 service agencies such as food banks, public health clinics, refugee resettlement organizations, churches and many others. We have an online ordering system where our partner agencies can place orders for specific children and they can tell us exactly what that child needs.
We rely on volunteers to help us in all stages of this process. Volunteer projects in our warehouse include:

  • Sorting of incoming donations. This could include clothing, toys or other types of children’s equipment.
  • Filling orders for children. At WestSide Baby, we partner with over 150 social service agencies. The representatives at these agencies place orders for the children they support using our online ordering system. Volunteers then fill the orders (it is sort of like shopping WestSide Baby).
  • Bundling Diapers - At WestSide Baby we provide a package of 50 diapers per month/per child. We use volunteers to make the packages.
  • Toy packaging/recall checking - We receive many donations of toys and they all need to be deemed safe and packaged according to age appropriateness.

Please contact Shaina Williams, Volunteer Production Manager at volunteer@westsidebaby.org with any questions.

WestSide Baby meets the basic needs of children to promote safety, security & healthy development. We provide essential items to keep children safe, warm and dry by collecting and distributing diapers, clothing, and equipment throughout Western King County. We receive donations from the community, check and sort those donations, and distribute them directly to 100+ partner agencies, who are experts in areas of early learning, parental support and healthcare and who work authentically, and directly with families and children.
