TEDXSeattle

TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxSeattle , where x = independently organized TED event.

TEDxSeattle is one of the first and longest running TEDx events in the world. Now we are proud to say it is one of the largest as well. What started in 2010 as a single-day event called TEDxRainier with an audience of 600 people has evolved into TEDxSeattle with an audience that now fills McCaw Hall’s 2,800 seat auditorium.

The TEDxSeattle organization and annual event is a 100% volunteer-run and self-supporting nonprofit and we are currently looking for a Co-Organizer to join our team!

This role is responsible for overseeing all areas of the TEDxSeattle organization. You are a leader of leaders and will drive the strategic direction of the or overall organization for several years to come. You must be passionate about transforming this organization into one that hosts the best events in the northwest, and you must have the pedigree to get us there. This role is not for the faint of heart. The responsibility that comes along with this role is immense but the opportunity to build something great will be rewarding beyond compare.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of about a dozen division heads.
  • Drive the strategic vision of the organization
  • Leverage Personal and Business connections to deepen TEDxSeattle’s partnerships in the Seattle community
  • Build a multi-year plan for the organization and align resources appropriately to achieve long-term goals.
  • Recruit and retain industry experts into our organization

Experience

  • Experience leading other leaders (4+ years)
  • Event Production/Management Experience (3+ years)
  • Ability to build an Operating Budget
  • Project or Program Management skills
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills
  • Experience leading Volunteer-run organizations
  • Familiarity with 501(c)3 rules and regulations

Time Commitment

  • 6-10 hours per week

At our TEDxSeattle event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group.
