Volunteer in your community and set your own schedule! Ascend Hospice is looking for volunteers who are licensed cosmetologists who can periodically meet the special needs and requests of our hospice patients
How do I know when I'm needed? A patient's nurse or social worker will put in a request for your services (haircut, mani-pedi, or makeup). Then your volunteer coordinator will reach out to you to see if you're available and answer any questions.
How far will I have to travel? You tell us how far you are willing to travel. Ascend Hospice serves patients throughout the KC Metro Area.
Example of previous requests:
-Patient and daughter wanted to do one last Mother's Day spa experience so a licensed cosmetologist came to their home to fulfill the wish.
- A family's wish was to have a family portrait so a volunteer cosmetologist came out to get them photo ready.
It's our goal to make every moment count and often a simple thing like a haircut or beauty treatment can make someone's day so much better! To provide each patient with comfort and dignity is our goal.
