Volunteers at the Friends of the Oregon City Library Used Bookstore perform a wide variety of functions in support of book sales. Volunteers sort and process donations from public - eliminating those items that cannot be sold, cleaning books, determine value based on pre-set guidelines, pricing book and shelving books. Volunteers greet customers, assist in helping customers find what books they're seeking, and process sales. Volunteers also manage books by cleaning shelves, removing old items from shelves and keeping the bookstore clean and neat. With experience, volunteers will also learn to open and close the bookstore as needed.
