Goals of the Internship

The intern will learn proper techniques for handling and cataloging a collection of Stamford Museum art and artifacts as well as experience installing and hanging museum exhibitions.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist in installing, de-installing Stamford Museum gallery exhibitions
  • Cataloging and photographing works of art & artifacts in the museum’s permanent collection
  • Entering data into Collections software
  • Research on collection and upcoming exhibitions


  • A strong interest in museum collections, databases, and digitization projects
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite
  • Experience with digital photography
  • Extremely detail oriented
  • The individual should be reliable, ready to take direction, and willing to work as a team player
  • Successfully pass a criminal background check
