Pet therapy visits for Hospice Patients
Do you have a pet that would make an excellent comfort, companion pet? Consider joining the Mercy Hospice Volunteer Team with your pet (dog)that has completed the Canine Good Citizen training and is registered with Therapy Dogs International or Canine Companions for Independence. Visits may be done with patient's at Mercy Hospice-Johnston (Inpatient hospice facility), in Care Facilities where our hospice patients reside, or in patient homes. This can be routinely scheduled visits to the MHJ facility or per patient request for pet therapy visits. If you think that your pet could provide comfort to those with a life limiting illness, please reach out to the Mercy Hospice Volunteer Coordinator.
We'll work with your schedule.
