Our WRC Education & Outreach program is aimed at advocating for women's issues in our community, challenging harmful attitudes and stereotypes about who needs assistance, and sharing resources with our neighbors.
We offer presentations in the following settings:
- Support groups
- Professional settings
- Shelters
- Faith-based institutions
- Civic groups
Volunteering in this program is an exciting way to affect change for women in our community. While contributing to an important local effort, volunteers gain knowledge, improve their public speaking and facilitation skills, and get to meet new groups of people throughout the county.
Education & Outreach Volunteers will receive hands on training to prepare you to facilitate outreach opportunities independently and to share the WRC mission. Volunteers will be responsible for a combination of self-initiated opportunities and ones planned by the agency.
Your commitment level is flexible with your availability, and speaking opportunities can be scheduled outside of 'regular' business hours! Volunteers must have reliable transportation (car/license, public transit, etc.).
