Do you have a love for sewing and making a difference in the lives of others? If so, Comfort Care Hospice has a volunteer opportunity for you. Memory Bears, quilts, pillows are a lovely way to remember a loved one who has passed. Using the patient’s favorite shirt, gown, or other clothing provided by the family; and turning into a beautiful bear, quilt, or pillow is a one-of-a-kind memorial keepsake. This is presented to the family after their loved one has passed. This can be shared for generations. You do not have to be a professional seamstress; just a love for sewing, creative mind, and compassion for others.

Mission Statement
Our mission is to revolutionize the way homecare is delivered, one patient at a time. We have purposefully built a platform around our strong organizational culture, which is grounded in our Mission, Core Values, and Operating Principles. We seek to hire individuals who embody our Core Values, and every decision we make, large or small, is guided by our Operating Principles, which we refer to as "The Five Cs." Compliance is the element of our culture that underscores everything we do. The organizational culture we have created supports our ability to recruit, motivate, and empower our people at all levels so that we can deliver better patient care and superior performance. We owe that to the patients and families who trust their care and their lives to us. Simply put, Aveanna is a different kind of home healthcare company because our culture will always remain at the critical heart of our ambitious goals.
Description
PATIENT VOLUNTEER
Patient volunteers interact directly with patients and their families, providing non-medical attention. Their time includes visiting with patients, offering comfort, listening to stories and memories, reading aloud, playing cards and games, helping with chores, or providing bereavement support.
Support volunteers touch patients lives by investing time into Comfort Care. These volunteers make crafts for patients, attend special events, help with projects or administrative needs, answer phones, and recruit other volunteers. Support volunteers are our behind-the-scenes champions.
Companions share life closely with patients. Companions keep vigil with patients and families during their final hours. Our companion program is a special service staffed by trained volunteers who are deeply dedicated to offering friendship and care.
Junior Volunteers are individuals, age 14-18, interested in the medical field. Junior Volunteers help with community activities by serving and assisting our office staff with special projects.
