The Finance Volunteer will be part of the team to implement a rigorous project that will be running from April to November 2019 and will be responsible maintaining an accurate accounting function.

The Finance Volunteer will be responsible for:

  • Managing accountability
  • Writing payment vouchers for approved payments
  • Preparation of approved payments
  • Banking cash and cheque deposits
  • Petty cash management
  • Preparing financial reports

Our mission is to create awareness through information dissemination, psycho-social and nutritional support to cancer patients, care givers and the general public in Uganda.

Description

The Cancer Information and Support Society of Uganda is a not for profit organization founded in 2012 with a vision of seeing a cancer free Uganda. We use social media, newspapers, magazines, radio and TV to educate people on how to reduce their risk of cancer and how cancer can be found early through screening tests. Our support services help people with cancer and their loved ones with psycho-social support, nutritional support and legal services at a time when they are in dire need. We advocate to government on important cancer-related issues on behalf of those affected by cancer.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Background Check
  • Must be at least 23
  • Orientation or Training
  • The volunteer will be required to dedicate at least 24 hours a week on project work between April - November 2019
  • The volunteer should be living in Kampala. Should have a clear track record of managing donor funds. Should be willing to attend additional training in finance management and other technical assistance from donors.
