The Dental Connections Smile Squad travels to metro area schools to provide dental exams and treatment on the Mobile Dental Clinic, an RV retro-fitted with two dental chairs. The Mobile Dental Clinic staffs two dental assistants and a dentist. Following a patient's exam or treatment, the dental assistant must sterilize the dental chair and surrounding area. The dentist completes the patient's notes.
With a runner to escort the school-aged children to and from their classroom, the assistants and dentist have time to complete their work and can be ready to see the next patient when he/she arrives. This helps the flow of patients run more efficiently, and the Smile Squad is able to see more patients in a day's time.

Description
Our clinic is a non-profit Dental Center established in 1919! We provide comprehensive general and pediatric dental services. We serve all income levels and all age groups! We also offer discount opportunities to families!
Our dental clinic also operates community-based oral health programs including a fluoride varnish program in area Headstart and pre-schools; a dental sealant program in area schools; and the Smile Squad Mobile Dental Clinic (two-chair custom-built RV’s providing dental treatment services in area schools). Starting in January of 2016, the Dental Connections, Inc. entered into an exciting new partnership with Des Moines Public Schools! We now have a satellite clinic, called the Nolden Gentry Dental Clinic located in the Kurtz building at the Des Moines Public School Welcome Center. This location provides dental services to enrolled students of Des Moines Public Schools!
