BECOME A LOCAL COORDINATOR WORK IN STUDENT EXCHANGE

Do you have a desire to broaden your experience and world perspective while enriching the lives of international students and American families? We have the right position for you - Work in Student Exchange!

ICES has an opportunity to work in your local community. We are looking for adults interested in international student exchange who can promote educational opportunities to international youth, adults and American students.

ICES LOCAL COORDINATOR BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Recruit host families through community outreach and local program promotion. ICES training will provide many creative ideas for finding quality families in the community.
  • Screen each host family, ensuring that every student is placed in a safe and nurturing environment.
  • Facilitate student and host family orientations to equip all parties for a successful experience.
  • Provide ongoing support to students and host families through regular communication and offer assistance with any challenges that might arise.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local high schools.
  • Complete all placement and supervision documentation in a timely manner via the ICES online database.
  • Organize occasional activities and/or outings for your students and host families.
ICES LOCAL COORDINATOR TRAINING AND SUPPORT
  • New coordinator training is a series of online training modules that you can access at your convenience. Assistance is available from your Regional Director and a full-time trainer.
  • Your Field Manager or Regional Director will maintain regular communication with you to offer guidance, encouragement, and support.
  • Weekly regional teleconference calls provide ongoing training and regional team building.
  • ICES provides quality marketing and support materials to help you be successful.
  • Qualifying LC’s are invited to attend the ICES Training Conference each spring and the international trip each fall. These trips are fun, beneficial, and help you form genuine friendships with other ICES staff.

    • ICES international trip each fall for qualifying Local Coordinators and other field staff. The last years’ trips have been to China, Brazil, Mexico, Spain, Belgium and Italy. These trips are fun, beneficial, and help you form genuine friendships with other ICES staff.
    • Career opportunities for skilled Local Coordinators to become ICES Field Managers.
