ORGANIZATION: Volunteers of America Oregon

Many seniors and adults with disabilities want to stay in the comfort of their homes, but need extra support for their bodies, minds, and hearts. Moreover, their caregivers need a break to re-energize.

Help us provide a beautiful indoor environment to enrich the lives of cognitively and physically impaired seniors and adults.

  • Work with the Activity Coordinator to schedule Houseplant care and watering
  • Interact with participants during activities

Essential Qualifications:

  • Ability to assess plant needs and communicate those with Activity Coordinator
  • Open communication
  • Must be 16 years or older

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with cognitively and physically impaired adults and senior citizens.

Variable weekday hours between 7:30am-4pm. Commitment of 6-12 hours a month for 6 months or based on the needs of the garden.

Program orientation plus on-going feedback and coaching provided. Join a team of dedicated and fun staff in improving the lives others.

Adult Day Services: Community-based medical and social models of age. Our adult day centers offers daytime respite services for caregivers and provide a supportive, therapeutic, and empowering environment for seniors and adults with a variety of health-related needs.

Since 1896, Volunteers of America Oregon has worked to change lives by promoting self-determination and building strong communities.
