The Greater Pittsburgh Community Food bank is running our annual summer food program and we are looking for some volunteers. The summer food program helps to get free food into the hands of children and youth aged 18 and younger throughout the summer when schools are closed. Children, youth, and teens come to a summer food site (located throughout Allegheny County) to get a free meal and to partake in fun activities. We are looking for volunteers to help run some programming/activities over the summer at these sites. Volunteers would be working to end food insecurity, gain experience working one-on-one with children and youth, and have the ability to create and implement programming for those aged 18 and younger.

Volunteers are required to get their Act 33 (Child Abuse) and Act 34 (Criminal History) background
checks. Both are free to obtain as a volunteer. An FBI background check is also required and has a
$27.50 fee, which will be reimbursed by the GPFB.
