Children entering the foster care system often leave home without the items they value, like their favorite teddy bear, blanket and other personal items. Children are placed into care while at school and do not have the opportunity to return home prior to being placed into care. In other cases, children are placed into the care at twilight evening hours and are rushed to pack limited contents into garbage bags before heading to foster care. We believe that Georgia’s children should be greeted with the love and dignity of a care package that they can call their own when they enter the foster care system. Therefore, our organization works to provide children entering foster care with a duffel bag containing essential items to increase comfort and security during their earliest days of placement.
Help us fill duffle bags with essential items for children entering foster care for the first time. You can do this in several ways - (1) host a "fill a duffel bag" party, (2) in lieu of a birthday party ask your friends to donate items to fill a duffel bag (3) ask your organization to collect items to fill a duffel bag (4) host a fundraiser to purchase items to fill duffel bag (5) have a ice bucket type contest and challenge your friends, family and coworkers to purchase items to fill x amount of duffel bags.
We'll provide the bags. Items needed for the bags includes:

Underwear
Socks

Age appropriate blanket

Description
We are a registered 501(c)(3) (since 2015) non-profit organization that is dedicated to creating lasting memories for children impacted foster care, adoptive, kinship families and families from disadvantaged communities.
In a world filled with economic instability, global uncertainty and lack of community, children need us more than ever. Because One Matters is here to offer more than just compassion. We are here to offer hope and real support, encouraging children and families.
Our foster care programs helps to bridge the needs-gap for the 11,000+ children in Georgia’s foster care system. Our goal is to create lasting memories for children impacted by foster care in Georgia by showing them love and empowering them to flourish into adulthood. Our end-goal is to positively impact the lives of children in Georgia’s foster care system through-out the journey:
Clarion Club - Our chief aim is to aid students in finding their calling, preparing for middle or high school graduation, matriculating to college or a career, and successfully transitioning into adulthood. Ensuring the students we serve in this program have equitable opportunities for life success is our only acceptable outcome. In doing so, we’ll promote basic knowledge, civic responsibility, moral values, economic self-sufficiency, and awareness of each student’s potential in this country.
