Are you looking for something fun to do... do you like to drive... do you want to make a difference and help people? Volunteer driving is an opportunity to help seniors in your community. You can control the amount of time you want to be involved. Most volunteers drive once a week, some twice a week, others every other week. We are very flexible and will work with your schedule.
Using your own vehicle, you would help older adults maintain their independence by taking them to much needed medical appointments. Clients greatly appreciate their improved access to medical care, meaningful interactions with caring volunteers, and increased peace of mind. Unfortunately, the program does not have enough drivers to meet the growing demand for transportation from King County seniors.Our volunteer drivers do a lot more than drive! By volunteering with Sound Generations Volunteer Transportation Program, drivers not only provide needed transportation but companionship for both the senior and the volunteer.

Sound Generations, established in 1967, is Washington State's most comprehensive non-profit organization that supports people on their aging journey through community connections and accessible services. Established in 1967, we support almost 54,000 older adults, disabled persons, and those who care for them annually in King County.
Description
Our eleven programs operating throughout numerous community and senior center sites are constantly striving to expand the provision of food security, transportation, health & wellness, and assistance services to under served and marginalized populations. We are committed to helping all people, especially those in low-income communities and communities of color, obtain the services they need while feeling included and respected in a community that affirms aging.
